The Role:

Due to company growth, Pender & Howe is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive individual to support our team. The Associate Business Partner will work in partnership with Pender & Howe’s Principals throughout the entire value chain of the business. The Associate Business Partner will be involved in (including but not limited to) prospecting business opportunities, formulating search strategies, sourcing candidates, preparing business presentations, scheduling client/candidate interviews, and conducting professional reference checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate a thorough search strategy utilizing various methods to source potential candidates matching specific profiles – conducts research and builds a list of potential candidates for each assignment
  • Identify high quality and diverse candidates
  • As required, create an online advertising strategy to complement the recruitment strategy and attract qualified candidates – draft advertisement literature related to the search
  • Utilize various market research techniques to locate new business opportunities and source prospective client information
  • Assist Principals in managing candidate and client communications throughout the search process
  • Attend client pitches and client meetings
  • Coordinate/schedule interviews with candidates and clients
  • Prepare customized client contracts, proposals, and presentations
  • Develop strong professional relationships with clients and candidates, ensuring strong candidate and client care
  • Support internal company initiatives such as social media promotion, website maintenance, vendor management etc.…
  • Develop expertise in assigned industries through personal research
  • Process reference and background checks

Candidate Profile:

  • University Degree or College Diploma
  • 3+ years of professional experience
  • Exposure to talent acquisition, sourcing, or recruitment
  • Sense of urgency and proactive nature
  • Capable of managing multiple projects at a time with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Highly organized
  • Self-motivated and with the ability to work autonomously
  • Highly professional with sound judgement
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
  • Naturally curious and takes an interest in corporate landscape and current affairs
  • Recognizes and respects the importance of client and candidate confidentiality
