ESG in Action: Supporting Boardroom Diversity

Pender & Howe Executive Search is committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. 

As one pillar of our ESG commitment, we are delighted to continue supporting the Women In Bio - Greater Montreal Excellence in Canadian Board Governance (ECBG) program in partnership with the McGill Executive Institute. 

This program accelerates building diversity in the boardroom by providing women in C-suite, senior executive, and founder positions within Canada's Life Science and Biotechnology sectors with increased board leadership opportunities. The ECBG program equips board members with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of board responsibilities and governance issues effectively. It provides a framework for refined decision-making and establishes a pipeline of prospective life science directors with specialized board governance knowledge, enabling smooth integration into board roles.

Our commitment to ESG aligns with the mission of WIB-Greater Montreal and Executive Women In Bio (EWIB) in promoting, empowering, and elevating diversity and inclusion in biopharma and the life sciences.

Environmental Stewardship and Operational Excellence

LEED Certified Office

Our Toronto office, located at 150 King Street West, achieved LEED v4.1 Platinum Certification. Our Montreal office, located in the Sun Life Building, is the first century-old building in North America to obtain triple Platinum certification for excellence in environmental performance and digital connectivity. 

Education and Volunteerism

Our team is actively engaged in learning about Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I), anti-racism, and unconscious bias, alongside volunteering for various causes including animal rights, rehabilitation support, and children’s welfare.

Sustainability Practices

We have embraced eco-friendly practices such as supporting local businesses, reducing plastic use, and purchasing sustainable products. Our firm has transitioned to paperless operations, employing digital solutions for customer relationship management, invoicing, and business communication.
