As the Founder of Pender & Howe, Travis Hann has guided the firm’s evolution from an executive search specialist to a human capital advisory firm. Most recently, he led the merger with Step Benefits Group to add group benefits and insurance. Today, he is focused on expanding the firm into new geographies and service lines, building a world-class culture, and helping clients do the same.
Travis spent years in hands-on executive search, where he built an automotive and mobility practice that evolved into technology and software as the industry changed. He has personally recruited more than 200 leaders, primarily for investor-backed businesses, including the CEO of a publicly traded automotive company and CEOs of mid-market technology companies. Across those mandates, he developed a deep understanding of how investor-backed and tech-enabled businesses grow.
Travis brings a global perspective, having worked with clients and partners across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. He is in his sixth year on the executive board of Kestria, a global alliance of boutique search firms spanning more than 40 countries.
Travis studied business at Webber International University in Florida on a golf scholarship, where the network he built led him into recruitment. He remains an avid golfer and a member of the Royal Montreal Golf Club. He splits his time between Montreal, Toronto, and New York.
